I'm curious why you this might be your last Rails Conf. As much as I've always wanted to go, I haven't been able to justify the $1,500-$2,000 for air, hotel, and ticket.

@bradly Rails Conf was great, I was positively surprised by the talks and I was able to socialize with a lot of people. The keynotes were a bit weak but in general I had a great time.

My favorite part when I go to confs is to socialize and hack on stuff with various people. However I do less and less Rails and I there is more and more people coming to Rails Conf making it hard to spend quality time with people. Also, I don't like Las Vegas, and that's where Rails Conf will be next year.

To sum up I think that most new and interesting stuff I learned at Rails Conf were not related to Rails and even though I was able to spend time with some of the caboose, Hashrocket, pivotal, powerset, Engine Yard, GitHub and Australian Rubyists I think going to smaller conferences makes networking easier.

We'll see, maybe I'll change my mind after Ruby Conf (limited to 500 people)
